A list goes on as I was processing my husband and I’s requirements for our UAE job hunting by a tourist/ visit visa. We are prepping our school documents and other government requirements first before applying for a visa, and today I am more than glad to share our experience at one of the best online government agency application I’ve encountered ever! You wouldn’t believe it, but gone are the times when I saw lines just below LRT Monumento station, particularly at Ever Grand Central, or at the Carriedo branch near Quiapo church. Well, there are still long lines in NBI main when I went there, probably because most people haven’t heard of e-clearance yet.

I asked 2 of my office mates who went to NBI just this year, one in U.N and the other in Robinsons Galleria. Both of them said they went there at 6:30 in the morning after our shift (we’re working graveyard shift) and finish both at 2 pm. How crazy can that be? I would not want to do that especially after working 9 hours and without any sleep yet.

Good thing I researched, and the very helpful “google” told me you can get your NBI clearance easier by registering online first. I also searched for blogs for how-tos and all of them said the same thing. Easy, hassle-free, simple and smooth transaction. Here’s my first hand experience, fresh and hot!

  • Before you may be able to sign up, you need to pay the amount first according to your purpose at any g-cash locations. I paid Php 140 for Travel Middle East plus Php 20 service charge in Globe. You need to bring a valid I.D. at the Globe center. (List of purposes link)

  • Check out NBI online’s site and register your e-mail, the reference number and date of the receipt. Click this link to NBI E-clearance registration form.
  • You will be directed to a page where you need to fill up your personal info and confirm if all details are correct.

  • Click Print and bring the QR code printout on your appointment date.

  • Schedule your appointment by booking a request via text. NBI main is open from 8 am  – 5 pm. I scheduled a trip there at 4 pm, 6 days after I registered online. An hour before their cut off time for me is best, less cues less people. Patapos na ang dagsa ng mga applicants.

  • I went at NBI main in U.N. today, brought the QR code printout and a valid I.D. Go straight to 4th floor (E-clearance room) and hand them your printout. 15-20 minutes wait time then you’ll be asked to go inside for biometric fingerprinting and picture taking. (when we went there at 4 pm, there are still long lines, I’m not sure if it’s from cashier or biometric fingerprinting but the line is from the ground floor to 3rd floor. We are so lucky!)
  • After that, we were asked to get our NBI clearance on April 15th, 4 working days later (because 9th is a holiday). Yes, there are 2 trips but if not for a common last name I have now, I might get it within the day.
  • I was overjoyed! Kami lang ang lumabas ng gate ng nakangiti. 🙂
